System Permissions
To act on your behalf, Silicon Worker needs some system permissions. Grant them as needed — you can skip what you don't use. This page lists what each permission is used for and when it's needed. For the steps, see Grant system permissions.
macOS permissions
In System Settings → Privacy & Security, enable as needed:
| Permission | Used for | When needed |
|---|---|---|
| Accessibility | Recognize and operate UI elements (clicks, typing) | Required for desktop automation |
| Automation | Control other apps via scripting | When the assistant drives other apps (e.g. Notes) |
| Full Disk Access | Read/write files in protected locations | When accessing files under protected system paths |
| Calendars | Read and write calendar events | When using Calendar capabilities |
| Reminders | Read and write reminders | When using Reminders capabilities |
| Notifications | Notify you when a task completes | When you want completion alerts |
macOS usually prompts the first time a capability is used; you can also enable these in advance. Some permissions may require relaunching the app to take effect.
Windows permissions
| Mechanism | Used for | When needed |
|---|---|---|
| UI Automation (UIA) | Recognize and operate UI elements to perform desktop automation | For desktop automation; generally needs no extra manual grants |
If antivirus software blocks automation, add Silicon Worker to its trusted list.
Safety note
Silicon Worker asks for consent before sensitive actions. A permission only means "this capability is allowed" — whether a given high-risk action actually runs is still controlled by the tool's risk level and your permission mode. See Tools & risk.
